 Welcome to seriti.net

I hope to provide a service that helps you to cut through the vast jungle of spiritual literature and identify those sources of wisdom which have no agenda except the enlightment of anyone who seeks to "know thyself".

I offer no set of rules, only a distillation of the information I have found to be useful. Signposts that all point in the same direction, towards answering the perennial question. Why?

"Seriti" is the Xhosa (Nelson Mandela's mother tongue) word for a concept that is universal in African traditional thought and refers to the underlying universal force or energy. Derived from this is the african concept of "Ubuntu" which is the understanding that people are only people through their relationships with other people. These ideas have their parallels in all cultures.

Lao Tsu said "The Tao that can be named is not the Tao." Everyone has a different lens of life experience and the same words are often interpreted very differently. So doubt is well founded and faith dangerous, yet we experience the abundance of the universe even in the many attempts to name the nameless, of which this is just another one.

The site is a work in progress and any comments would be appreciated.
